Dr Faiqa Noor Khan, daughter of former Pakistan Air Force chief Air Marshal Noor Khan, lost her life in a devastating traffic accident in the United States, leaving her family, friends, and the medical community in mourning.
The accident happened over the weekend in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, according to US media reports. Local officials shared that Dr Faiqa, a respected pediatrician, was driving her car when it veered off the road, crashed, and caught fire. Police confirmed she sadly died at the scene.
Dr Faiqa was 75 and had built an exceptional reputation in medicine over decades. She joined the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in 1993 and dedicated years of service there. Eventually, she became Medical Director of the hospital’s Emergency Department, earning praise for her leadership and her tireless commitment to improving children’s healthcare.
Her colleagues, both in the US and Pakistan, are heartbroken. Many remembered her as a kind and caring doctor, a mentor who guided young medical professionals, and someone who always put patients first.
In Pakistan, King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Lahore, where she graduated in 1973, expressed deep sorrow over her passing. Faculty and alumni paid tribute, describing Dr Faiqa as a source of pride for their institution and honoring her lifelong achievements.
Dr Faiqa Noor Khan’s untimely death is a huge loss for the medical world. Her dedication, compassion, and remarkable contributions to healthcare will not be forgotten.
