The legendary fighter Alex will arrive as a new downloadable character in StreetFighter 6 on March 17, as announced by Capcom.This addition stands out not only for its return to the franchise, but also for the collaboration with the well-known professional wrestler Kenny Omega, who lent his movements to bring realism to Alex’s techniques through motion capture.
Since his debut as a protagonist in Street Fighter III: New Generation, Alex has been characterized by his defiant attitude and his combat style based on free wrestling.For his arrival in Street Fighter 6, Capcom has expanded his technical repertoire, including more than 10 new throws and movements that allow a fluid transition between attacks, making him a versatile fighter in both in-ring combat and street fights.
Among the new features are the Flash Ax attack, which has light and medium versions that work well as combo finishers;the classic PowerBomb, now available in multiple versions to offer different strategies;and the Prowler Stance position, a technique that sacrifices defense in favor of a complex offense with 11 continuation options.
To offer an authentic experience to fans, Capcom turned to KennyOmega, one of the most prominent figures in professional wrestling, to participate in motion capture of several attacks, including the special Omega Wing Buster, which pays homage to KennyOmega’s own techniques in the ring.
Omega’s influence is also reflected in Alex’s visual appearance and gestures, as his postures are a direct reflection of the fighter’s characteristic movements.In this way, the gaming experience is enriched with more natural and expressive transitions during combat, allowing users to appreciate a faithful representation of current wrestling within the Street Fighter universe.
Alex not only brings mechanical depth to Street Fighter 6, but also expands the customization options for players.Includes two outfits: one inspired by his role as Dark Devil and another that recalls his classic design from previous installments.In addition, the character arrives accompanied by his own music composed by JAM Project, a famous group in the anime field.
The launch of Alex follows the appearance of other notable characters such as Sagat and C. Viper and precedes the incorporation of Ingrid, thus completing the list planned for the third year of downloadable content.
