Pop Star Slams White House for Using Her Song in Controversial Immigration Video

The White House is facing backlash from pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter after using her hit song “Juno” in a social media video showing law enforcement officers detaining individuals in apparent immigration raids.

The Grammy winner didn’t hold back, calling the video “evil and disgusting.”

“Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda,” Carpenter fired off on X (formerly Twitter).

A PR representative for the singer backed up her strong words, telling CNN to refer to Carpenter’s social media post for further comment.

Onstage, Carpenter typically performs playful “arrests” with celebrity guests during “Juno,” complete with pink fluffy handcuffs. But she was far from amused this time.

The White House doubled down, even quoting lyrics from Carpenter as they responded to her criticism.

“Here’s a Short n’ Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won’t apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?” said spokesperson Abigail Jackson in a fiery statement.

The video featuring Carpenter’s song stayed up on X and TikTok as of late Tuesday.

This isn’t the first time the Trump White House has landed in hot water with musicians over unapproved use of their songs, frequently mixing serious topics with jokey memes and viral clips.
