A former tehsil nazim was injured on Tuesday when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near his vehicle in Domel, located in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district.
Police said the IED was aimed at Fida Muhammad Khan, the former Domel tehsil nazim, just as he arrived at his office. The device had been planted in advance and was set off remotely.
The blast caused significant damage to the vehicle, authorities confirmed.
Fida Muhammad Khan was hurt in the explosion and quickly moved to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital in Bannu for treatment. Details about his condition were not immediately available.
Police have launched an investigation and are collecting evidence from the scene to find those responsible.
