Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos had reconciled before the cowboy’s arrest in Texas: “They want this to work”

Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos want to move forward with their relationship.A few days after the arrest of the renowned cowboy and equestrian trainer in Texas was revealed, new information reveals that the couple had already reconciled discreetly after having undergone a temporary breakup.

According to Us Weekly in a report on February 6, the lovers “got back together” before the police incident involving the rider on January 31.“The separation was brief but necessary,” said a close source.”They’ve been up and down since December, but she still cares deeply about him and wants to make it work.”

A second informant agreed with that version.”Their relationship is like a work in progress. They come from two different worlds,” he told the American publication.“The source of their comings and goings is their contrasting careers and lifestyles, but there is a great love between them.”

The breakup between Hadid, 29, and Banuelos, 36, had been confirmed on January 26, after more than two years of relationship. However, just five days later, the cowboy’s arrest and the release of a video in which the two appeared slow dancing in a Texas bar sparked speculation about a possible reconciliation.

“They are working on their relationship right now,” the first insider noted. “He has been a huge part of her life in Texas, so it has been difficult for her to let him go.”

The episode for which the couple made headlines again this month occurred in Weatherford, Texas.According to information revealed by TMZ, Bella Hadid had been forced to stop at a traffic stop near the Gator’s Cantina bar, where the two had been seen dancing hours before.

In the middle of the procedure, the equestrian trainer with Mexican roots appeared walking and approached the agents “concerned about his girlfriend.”According to the police report cited by the tabloid, the cowboy explained that Hadid had left her phone at the bar and that he was following her because “he was concerned about her safety.”

The officer in charge of the arrest recorded that “I immediately noticed that Adan’s speech was slurred and that his eyes were red and glassy,” in addition to the fact that there was “the smell of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.”Banuelos admitted to having consumed four beers throughout the day and agreed to take a field sobriety test, after which the agents determined that he was intoxicated.

Although he was not charged with driving under the influence, as he denied driving the vehicle, Banuelos was arrested “to prevent him from possibly driving or posing a danger to himself or others.”His truck was left on with a white dog inside, which belonged to Hadid.

The police report also notes that “the officer released Adan’s property and vehicle to his girlfriend, identified as Isabella Hadid, at his request.” Banuelos was later released after paying a $386 fine.

As you can see, Hadid was mentioned as his partner throughout the police procedure, despite rumors of a breakup.

Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos met in 2023, after the model moved to Texas with her mother, Yolanda Hadid. In an interview with BritishVogue, she recalled that first meeting: “I saw him come in and it was like a breath of fresh air,” she said, joking that she had “always been attracted to a cowboy.”

The couple celebrated their second anniversary in October 2025, but tensions began months later. As Us Weekly explained in an article published on January 27, the relationship “went downhill” due to their workload and professional travel.“They both had very busy schedules, they were in a long-distance relationship for a while, and it wasn’t working out,” a source said.

Apparently, future plans were also a source of contention.“Adan really wanted her to be in Texas with him, but Bella was ready to spread her wings again and take on more work in Los Angeles and New York,” the insider detailed. After the breakup, Hadid traveled with friends to the Virgin Islands.“She was really heartbroken and thought Adan was the one,” the source said.

Now, the couple is willing to try again.“Adam loves Bella and wants it to work,” an insider said in the Us Weekly report. He described him as “a very good guy” and recalled his prestige in the equestrian world, where he is known as “the Tom Brady of his sport” and “the $8 million cowboy.”
