Be careful with event pages: this is how hackers use AI to scam you this 2026

The entertainment industry is preparing for a scenario in which fraud, leaks and cyberattacks will increase thanks to artificial intelligence.Essential processes such as ticket sales, content creation and distribution are already being transformed by these technologies, increasing exposure to new threats.

This has been pointed out in the latest Kaspersky cybersecurity report, which managed to identify AI as a key factor in the evolution of risks for studios, platforms and users.

According to the report, the growing dependence on systems based on artificial intelligence turns these technologies into critical infrastructures for the sector.

A failure, abuse or attack no longer only has technical consequences, but also economic, legal and reputational consequences, especially in a context of global premieres, live broadcasts and massive audiences.

Five main areas of vulnerability associated with the expansion of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry were identified. The document highlighted that these challenges affect the entire value chain and require urgent attention.

The use of artificial intelligence allows ticket prices to be adjusted more quickly and accurately. However, it also offers new tools to resellers, who can use bots to detect high demand events and modify resale prices almost instantly.

Even when artists maintain fixed prices, secondary markets can experience automatic increases, reducing legitimate public access.

The growth in the use of cloud-based AI platforms to generate visual effects increases dependence on external providers and independent professionals. This expands the points of vulnerability.

Attackers can access third-party rendering systems or tools to obtain scenes or episodes before release, without directly compromising the major studios’ servers.

Content delivery networks store valuable materials such as unreleased episodes, finished movies, or live streams.Attackers use artificial intelligence to analyze these networks, locate sensitive files and detect insufficiently protected access.

A single incident can affect multiple titles or allow malicious code to be inserted into official broadcasts.

According to the Kaspersky team, users are exploring ways to get around the restrictions of AI tools to create characters, modify games or incorporate inappropriate materials.

If the data used to train the models does not have adequate controls, AI could produce content with sensitive personal information, exposing companies and players to new risks.

The regulations being implemented will force companies to be more transparent about AI-generated content and about consent and licenses to train models with copyrighted works. This will force the creation of new internal roles and processes to oversee the use of AI in both creative and commercial activity.

Computer security experts have suggested that companies in the sector carry out a detailed inventory and mapping of the use of artificial intelligence throughout the entire value chain. This information must be integrated into threat models and periodic risk assessments.

Continuously train employees in cybersecurity, reinforcing knowledge about risks related to AI and establishing clear controls over access to digital resources according to role and operational needs.

It also raises the need to review the architecture of distribution networks and deploy systems to detect anomalies in traffic and access, even when dealing with traditional providers.

According to the company’s analysis, studios, platforms and rights holders should consider both AI systems and the data that feed them as part of their critical attack surface, and not just as creative or optimization tools.
