The Abbottabad district administration has seized around 100 tonnes of illegally mined phosphate, stepping up efforts to curb unauthorized mining in the area.
Acting on the orders of Abbottabad Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram, authorities are cracking down on illegal mining activities throughout the district.
Assistant Commissioner Afrasiab Zubair Hindal led an inspection at the Tarnwai mining site, where the massive haul of illegally extracted phosphate was discovered and seized.
The operation was carried out with support from the Additional Director of Mines (Technical and Surveillance) and officers from Police Station Mangal.
During the raid, officials found two machines actively working in Block-IV, despite the mining lease for the site having expired nearly three months ago.
