Embark Studios confirms the development of two games after the success of Arc Raiders

The continued success of Arc Raiders has represented a turning point for Embark Studios, allowing for significant expansion and the security needed to begin development on two new games that have not yet been announced.CEO Patrick Söderlund confirmed in an interview that the company is in an outstanding financial situation, thanks to more than 12.4 million copies of Arc Raiders sold and record numbers of active players.

Söderlund stressed that this success guarantees stability for his employees, the production of new content for Arc Raiders and The Finals, in addition to the development of two completely new projects, about which details are currently unknown.

The performance of Arc Raiders in the market has been decisive in changing the destiny of Embark Studios.Since its launch in 2025, the game has not only been positioned among the best sellers, but has also maintained a base of more than 300,000 simultaneous players, significantly surpassing other titles of the same genre such as Battlefield 6. This sustained success has translated into income that allows Embark Studios to operate without economic pressures in the short and medium term.

The company has taken advantage of this situation to begin a hiring and expansion process for its team, focusing on the production of additional content for Arc Raiders and The Finals, as well as laying the foundations for two new internal projects.According to Söderlund, the expansion of the study also includes better salary conditions and bonuses, an unusual decision in a sector marked, in recent years, by cuts and layoffs.

The case of Embark Studios is striking compared to the general trend of the sector, which for two years has faced a series of layoffs and restructuring. In 2024 and 2025 alone, thousands of international developers lost their jobs due to readjustments, cancellations and financial difficulties of major publishers.

In contrast, Embark Studios is experiencing a positive stage that allows it to create jobs and advance in new developments without the fear of closures or workforce reductions. This stability has only been possible because of the unprecedented success of Arc Raiders, which managed to stand out in saturated markets. For the employees in the study, this represents not only the possibility of maintaining their source of work, but also accessing additional incentives in an environment where job uncertainty has become commonplace.

Beyond the natural interest generated by future unannounced projects, Embark Studios’ strength currently lies in the community that supports ArcRaiders. With peaks of activity that exceed 30,000 simultaneous players, the game not only shows longevity, but has set a new standard compared to recent competition, whose level of user retention is considerably lower.

In comparison, releases like Highguard barely manage to retain a small proportion of their initial players, with figures close to 10,000 users per day.Arc Raiders, on the other hand, remains among the most featured and downloaded games.

Currently, the industry’s attention is directed towards Embark Studios’ future projects, about which no information is yet known, although they already have the financial backing and organizational environment that the success of ArcRaiders has made possible. The study, which has not offered details on the themes or characteristics of these two new titles, seems to be betting on prudence in the face of the typical volatility of the sector, prioritizing both quality and internal solidity.
