The Israeli Army reported on two recent operations that reflect the persistent tension on the borders of Gaza and southern Lebanon.A spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that on Thursday night two “terrorists who entered a building east of the yellow line” in the northern Gaza Strip were killed.
The statement detailed that, after identifying the individuals, “Air Force planes attacked the building to eliminate the threat,” and that the operation ended with the death of the two militiamen.The IDF did not specify whether these people belonged to any Gazan armed faction.
Despite the truce, incursions continue in the Gaza Strip, mainly against those who, according to Israeli authorities, come too close to the yellow line, an unofficially demarcated boundary where Israel maintains a strong presence and control of more than half of the enclave.
Additionally, direct clashes with Palestinian militants have been reported, especially when Israeli soldiers are injured.On February 4, the Israeli Army killed 24 Palestinians in a series of retaliatory attacks after the wounding of a soldier in northern Gaza.
In parallel, the Israel Defense Forces reported the elimination of a Hezbollah fighter in the A-Tiri area, south of Lebanon.
According to the Israeli Army, the objective was trying to restore the organization’s military infrastructure in the region, which they consider a violation of the understandings reached between Israel and Lebanon.
The IDF stressed that it “will continue to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel.”
These actions reflect the continuity of tension on the borders and the fragility of the ceasefire agreements, in a context in which the armed conflict continues to claim victims and maintain instability in the region.
