Taz Skylar shared on his Instagram account a series of images of his physical preparation for the second season of One Piece, the live-action series produced by Netflix.
In the photographs, which show a brief behind-the-scenes look, he is seen carrying a weight to define his muscles and in one of the photos he is seen using an oxygen mask.
In the caption, the 29-year-old artist stated that he stopped drinking water and eating to achieve the perfect figure of his character, so the oxygen mask helps him stay upright.
“I didn’t drink water for almost two days. And I didn’t eat for three. The oxygen mask keeps me awake so I can keep activating it between takes. One of the most extreme things I’ve done, by far, for a scene,” he wrote.
It should be remembered that Taz Skylar plays Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, one of the central characters in the story created by Eiichiro Oda.
The second season, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, will premiere on Tuesday, March 10 on Netflix, with eight episodes available from that date.
The announcement of the series’ return was accompanied by the release of a three-minute trailer.Netflix also reported on global screenings and activations for fans, as well as the dissemination of a letter addressed to fans by the author of the original manga, EiichiroOda.
According to the synopsis, the new season resumes the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Monkey D. Luffy, played by IñakiGodoy.
“Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they travel through this unpredictable kingdom in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they will encounter strange islands and a host of new and formidable enemies,” the synopsis states.
The main cast includes Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.In this installment, the characters enter the Grand Line, a maritime region described as unpredictable and full of challenges.
Likewise, the second season incorporates new characters.Joe Manganiello Plays Mr. 0, leader of that organization.
Charita Chandran joins as Miss Wednesday, a member of the Baroque Works organization;David Dastmalchian plays Mr. 3;Katey Sagalda plays Dr. Kureha;and Mikaela Hoover lends her voice to Tony Tony Chopper, a talking reindeer who joins as the crew’s doctor.
As part of the international promotion, Netflix will organize 13 screenings and events for fans in different cities, including Mexico City, Los Angeles, Brussels, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Jakarta, Milan, Cape Town, Taguig (Philippines), Bangkok, Kaohsiung (Taiwan) and Rio de Janeiro, on dates between February 23 and mid-March.
The first season of One Piece received two Children’s and Family Emmy Awards, in the categories of stunt coordination and original song for “My SailsAre Set,” in addition to 11 additional nominations, including Best Youth Series.
