North West, daughter of Kim and Kanye, defies criticism with more “piercings” on her hand

At 12 years old, North West reacts defiantly with one of her most controversial style decisions: her interest in piercings. Despite having received criticism for this issue months ago, this Friday she reappeared on social networks showing her hand adorned with a dozen apparent metal piercings.

The image, published in parallel with the digital release of his song “Piercingon My Hand”, portrays a combination of small round and pointed studs distributed on the fingers and the back of the hands.

For now, it is not clear that all of the piercings are genuine. However, some of the piercings that he had already shown before appear slightly irritated in the image.

Her first visible piercing (the one on her finger) was discovered in September 2025, when she was photographed with her mother in Rome. That accessory was identified as a microdermal piercing or single-point piercing, a type of piercing that “lays flat against the skin and does not have a separate entry and exit point,” according to Byrdie.

Since then, the public’s reaction was one of disapproval, especially noting the teenager’s age. Many users on social media questioned Kim Kardashian’s decision to allow her daughter to undergo this type of body modification, arguing that it could involve more pain and risk of infection than other piercings.

Given that speech on networks, the founder of SKIMS decided to speak out.In an interview for the Call Her Daddy podcast, the businesswoman defended her daughter’s creative freedom.

“He has a really unique style. He introduces me to so many brands, just love it,” Kardashian said. And he added: “It’s very fun to see someone so creative and who also knows himself so well.”

Kim also highlighted North’s apparent calm in the face of negative comments: “She has good judgment and handles critical situations with maturity.”However, Kardashian acknowledged that she does not always make perfect decisions as a mother and asked the public for understanding.

“As a mom, you’re learning at the same time,” she said.“I’m like, ‘OK, we’ll never use that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the entire world,” he explained, before asking for “a little grace.”

On February 7, North officially released his rap song “Piercing on myhand.”Although the teenager had already rapped on her father’s songs, the credits for this new track indicate that it was “written, produced and performed by North.”

The lyrics make explicit reference to the controversy.“Piercing in my hand, the other one holding wads,” North raps in his entry to the track. In another verse he declares: “I want more piercings and tattoos,” making it clear that the aesthetics questioned by the public are part of his artistic identity. The song also mentions family trips—“shopping in Japan”—and responds to criticism with lines like: “You’re so mad that it’s so mainstream.”

A brief fragment of the song had been revealed for the first time on January 16 on their social networks.

On the other hand, Kim Kardashian recently said that North does not attend a traditional school, but is educated at home. There he follows an intensive musical program that adjusts to his interests.“At home she does eight-hour music study sessions, where she produces and writes,” said the businesswoman.
