PC Seller Sparks Outrage by Hiking Prices Over Rs. 200,000 After Cancelling Orders

PC hardware giant Corsair is in hot water after being accused of canceling a confirmed order for a prebuilt gaming computer, only to relist the same system at a much steeper price. The controversy erupted on Reddit, where a user shared his frustrating experience—and it didn’t take long for the story to catch fire among tech enthusiasts.

The customer explained he had managed to buy a Corsair Vengeance a5100 for Rs. 981,400. But Corsair soon canceled his order, giving no clear reason. To make matters worse, the very same PC appeared back on Corsair’s site, now sporting a jaw-dropping price tag of Rs. 1,205,935. The Rs. 224,535 increase left many would-be buyers both shocked and angry.

The machine itself is no slouch: it comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor, NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a roomy 2TB SSD. Some Reddit users speculated that rising costs for DDR5 memory and other parts could be responsible for the price jump. But most agreed that canceling a completed order and relisting the product at a higher price is simply unfair.

Backlash spread quickly, with critics slamming Corsair for its pricing and order policies. Corsair responded on Reddit, asking the affected customer to provide order details so they could look into the matter. However, the outcome remains uncertain, and customers are still waiting for Corsair to clarify whether they’ll honor the original order or offer an alternative solution.

This incident has sparked fresh debate about transparency and fairness in PC retail, with many buyers now wary of sudden price changes.
